Pasir Panjang Road, District 5
2017
In every kampung, there was always a padang; the patch of green where everyone crossed paths, traded news and watched their children grow up alongside someone else’s. Village at Pasir Panjang brings that idea home: just 5 storeys across a sprawling 107,000 sf site, deliberately choosing horizontal breathing room over vertical concrete. 148 low-rise residences wrap around a central water courtyard, verandahs facing inwards rather than out, so a passing wave to a neighbour is never far away. Every design choice made to bring people a little closer, the way the padang once did.
Its black-and-white 1950s façade and tiled coconut lawns carry a nostalgic grace — appearing more holiday resort than city condominium — with layered tropical greenery, water features and an intimacy that’s rare this close to Singapore’s West Coast.
